To mark our 50th anniversary this year, we’re excited to share a special clip from a rare and candid interview with Stellar’s co-founders, husband and wife team, Rob and Helen Lynch. In this video, they take us behind the scenes to share the story of how the name ‘Stellar’ came to be.
Rob and Helen built the business from scratch during a time when the industry was still reliant on analogue systems. Rob was working for a music station and was highly experienced in audio programming while Helen had a background in interior design. Together with a colleague of Rob’s, John Madden, their adventure began in 1974 when they responded to a newspaper ad placed by Qantas, which led to them starting the company now called ‘Stellar Entertainment’.
