As well as being a Content Service Partner in the Inflight Entertainment Industry, Stellar Entertainment has another arm of the business – Stellar Studios. Our in-house creative studio services include sonic branding, music supervision and licensing, original music composition, sound design, audio post-production, video editing and more. Having worked with a number of corporate brands, including GoPro and Google, we have decided to give our studio facilities a facelift to help accommodate increasing demand. Investing in our business in order to better service our clients is the Stellar way, with this renovation including a change to both the interior design of the space and the technology within it. This will help our studio better provide audio production solutions for both Stellar Entertainment’s commercial and airline clients.
The new space has been custom-designed by co-founder and board member, Helen Lynch. With a modern edge, the space will nod to the studio’s Australian heritage, with commissioned artwork from local Indigenous artists. With Helen’s keen creative eye and background in interior design, there is no one better placed to fully bring the Stellar Studio brand to life. Working with Kenny Hickson from Newform Interiors, the space is being furnished in a stylish, practical manner. Hickson is greatly trusted by the team at Stellar, having supplied furniture for the studio for the past three decades.
“With the coming together of new equipment, new design and ergonomic furnishings, this will be a fantastic space for our clients to use in the production of world-class content,” said Brad Power, Creative Director at Stellar Entertainment. “It’s incredible to think back to our first small space on Regent Street, Sydney, operating in the analogue world, to see how far we’ve come.”
With the latest digital technology comes a greater capacity for more projects. “We’re installing the Avid S6 Pro Tools console, which has 5.1 surround mix capabilities,” said Senior Audio Engineer, Ryan Burrows. “Not only does this streamline workflow, it’s also a beauty on the eyes!”
2018 was a busy year for Stellar Studios, with the launch of Stellar Original Content, an in-house project using our facilities to create original video and audio content.
Do You Remember?, a Stellar Original production, premiered at the 2018 APEX convention in Boston. This original series showcased Stellar’s content production capabilities across digital video, audio, original music composition, social and mobile platforms. Alongside the launch of this, Stellar Studios completed our first original podcast series. Terry and Dev is a 10-episode comedy podcast, following the relationship between a B-grade 80s TV celebrity by the name of Terry Bonher (whose career is all but finished), and his sycophantic and anxious manager, Devin Malcom
